AnswersWhat is the purpose of mycheapdomains.co.uk?To save you money, and make life easier for you. MyCheapDomains.co.uk is for managing domain names ending .uk that are registered with us. Everything about the domain can be configured using the site, from the email configuration (POP3 accounts, aliases etc) to the DNS hostnames data. Registrations and renewals are for two years and cost £10. Compared to other sites which claim to do much the same thing - you are
not tied in at all. You can leave at any time and transfer your domain
name elsewhere. There is no 'transfer fee' but you should be aware that
all payments for registrations and renewals are not refundable. How do I transfer my existing domain name to MyCheapDomainsYou need to contact the existing Nominet Tag holder responsible for your domain name. If you don't know who this is, enter your domain name into the Domain Checker on the home page of this site. The output will show the tag and usually a URL, enabling you to contact the appropriate people. You need to get them to release the domain name to our Nominet tag which
is FORDSYS. Be aware that some companies, unlike MyCheapDomains,
will charge you for releasing a domain name. How do I transfer my domain away from MyCheapDomains?If you decide that you would rather use a different company to manage your domain names then you are completely free to do so. All you have to do email transfers@mycheapdomains.co.uk giving details, including the Nominet tag you wish to transfer your domain to. It is your responsibility to ensure that the new tag holder is aware of the transfer and has given you permission. If you think we could improve our service in any way, please let us know.

Can I use the MyCheapDomains configuration services for my existing .com / .net / .org domain?At the moment you can only use mycheapdomains.co.uk to configure .uk
domain names. Can I register or renew a domain name for a period longer than two years?No. MyCheapDomains currently only allows renewals and registrations for periods of two
years. Why don't I have the option of renewing my domain name?Be patient! Domains can only be renewed when they are due to expire in
less than 180 days. We will automatically send you an email when your
domain reaches this point to remind you to renew it. What happens when my domain name is due for renewal?We will automatically send emails to you to remind you that your domain name is due to be renewed. To make sure that you recieve these emails, you should make sure that the email address on your account at MyCheapDomains is correct. We will send automatic reminder emails starting form 90 days before your domain name is due to expire. You can start the renewal process from your My Domains page What happens if I do not renew my domain name?If you do not renew your domain name, it will stop working at the expiry date. However, you will still be able to renew the domain for some time (at least 60 days) after the expiry date to reinstate service. After this time we cn not guarantee that your domain name will still be available. If you wish to cancel your domain name, please let us know so that we don't bother you with automatic renewal reminder emails. Where can I find out more about how .uk domain names work?
